It’s a mountain lodge with river and valley views, cabins, a pond, a reception tent, a beer garden, and plenty of outdoor space to actually hang out. The whole property has what I’d describe as elegant backyard vibes.
It’s especially worth looking at if you’re planning a smaller wedding, want your guests to be able to stay on-site, or like the idea of turning your wedding into a full weekend instead of just one day.
Here’s what you should know if you’re considering a Stone Mountain Lodge wedding.

Stone Mountain Lodge offers three standard wedding packages based on guest count. You can have up to 50, 100, or 150 guests, with pricing changing based on the day of the week. Current 2026 pricing ranges from $4,500 for a weekday wedding with up to 50 guests to $9,000 for a Saturday wedding with up to 150 guests.

What is Stone Mountain Lodge like for a wedding?
This isn’t your traditional wedding venue.
Stone Mountain Lodge is much more of a Colorado mountain wedding venue with a camp-meets-backyard-party feel.
You’ve got trees, mountain and valley views, the river across the street (not officially part of the venue, but is public access), a pond, a beer garden, patio furniture, yard games, and a reception tent all on the property. Their wedding packages also include a ride up the hill for mountain and valley photo backdrops.
There’s a lot here for your guests to actually do, which I love.
Your cocktail hour doesn’t have to mean everyone standing around awkwardly waiting for dinner. People can grab a drink, play a game, walk around, take a canoe ride on the pond, catch up with family, or just sit outside and enjoy being somewhere beautiful.
If your ideal wedding is less formal event and more party with all our favorite people, this is probably going to feel really aligned.
Where is Stone Mountain Lodge located?
Stone Mountain Lodge is located at 18055 N. Saint Vrain Drive in Lyons, Colorado. It’s tucked into the foothills along the St. Vrain River, which gives you that mountain getaway feeling without being hours away from everything.
Lyons is also a convenient jumping-off point for exploring the area. Just a half hour from Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park, Stone Mountain Lodge is perfectly situated for adventurous couples who want their guests to enjoy a classic Colorado vacation.
And because everyone can stay on the property, you don’t necessarily have to worry about coordinating transportation between a hotel, ceremony venue, reception venue, and after-party.
How many people can you have at a Stone Mountain Lodge wedding?

What does a Stone Mountain Lodge ceremony look like?
Your ceremony takes place outside, surrounded by the natural scenery of the property. While the ceremony space itself doesn’t overlook the valley, your guests will be faced towards a massive red rock cliffside, a classic for Colorado weddings. In the summer evening, these rocks glow in the golden hour light and make for a pretty epic backdrop.
This is one of those venues where I’d really encourage you to let the setting do some of the work. You don’t need to cover every surface in flowers because you feel like you need to “decorate” a mountain. The landscape is already doing a lot.
And if you’re thinking about photos, the venue also offers a ride up their trail for mountain and valley backdrops. So you can get a few of those bigger Colorado landscape photos without needing to go anywhere.
What does cocktail hour look like?
Stone Mountain Lodge includes a beer garden, patio furniture, yard games, and even a canoe for a float on the pond. This is one of those little details that can have a bigger impact on your wedding day than you might think. When your guests have somewhere to go and something to do, cocktail hour becomes part of the experience instead of just a gap between the ceremony and dinner.
And this is prime candid-photo territory. Give people a little space and something fun to do, and they’ll take care of the rest.
Where is the reception held?
The reception takes place in an outdoor tent on the property.
Stone Mountain Lodge provides tables, chairs, table linens, and napkins in a variety of colors as part of the standard wedding packages. That gives you a pretty good starting point if you want to personalize the space without having to bring absolutely everything in from scratch.
You can keep things simple and let the landscape be the star, or bring in florals, signage, table details, lighting, and whatever else makes the space feel like you. And once dinner is done, you’ve got the dance floor, the mountains, and everyone you invited in one place.
Pretty solid setup.
Can your guests stay at Stone Mountain Lodge?
Yes, and this is one of the biggest reasons I’d consider Stone Mountain Lodge if you want a wedding weekend instead of just a wedding day. The property has both rustic cabins and motel-style rooms. The cabins are surrounded by the valley, river, and pond, while the motel rooms are located in the heart of the valley.
Stone Mountain Lodge also offers a weekend wedding package. If you book a standard wedding package along with their welcome dinner, they’ll include a complimentary room block, with up to 70 people able to stay on-site for two or more nights. That means you can have your people arrive, settle in, hang out, eat together, get married, keep partying, and wake up together the next morning.
If having everyone in one place is high on your priority list, I’d put this pretty high on the list of things to ask about when you tour.
Can you have a welcome dinner at Stone Mountain Lodge?
Stone Mountain Lodge offers a welcome dinner add-on that gives you access to the venue from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday through Sunday, with the exception of Saturdays. You can use that time for dinner, a welcome party, or even decorating for the wedding the following day.
Current pricing ranges from $1,979 on Tuesday or Wednesday to $2,819 on Friday or Sunday.
If you’re already thinking about doing a full wedding weekend, this is worth looking into. You don’t have to plan a separate rehearsal dinner somewhere else. You can get everyone together at the place where you’re already getting married. And from a photography standpoint, it also gives you another piece of the story to document.
Because your wedding isn’t just the ceremony. It’s your people arriving, the hugs, everyone sitting around drinking, your friends seeing the venue for the first time, the night before when everyone is together and the wedding hasn’t even started yet.
Those things matter, too.

If you’re looking for a laid-back Colorado wedding venue where your people can stay, hang out, eat together, play games, get married outside, and spend an entire weekend celebrating with you, Stone Mountain Lodge checks a lot of those boxes.
It’s not completely hands-off. There are still logistics to figure out, especially around weather, lodging, vendors, and the venue’s noise policies. But that’s true of every wedding venue.
